Career Champion: Kamryn Law
Introducing a new series to this bloggity: Career Champion! One thing I love about the blogging community is meeting incredible, strong, beautiful, courageous and wildly talented, smart, innovative, entrepreneurial boss babes, chief chicas, inspiring women. Every month, I'm going to spotlight one of these incredible role models and share a little bit about what makes them amazing.
This month’s champion is one of my good blogger friends, Kamryn Law! We are name buddies (same name, different spelling. I spell mine “Cameryn”), but more importantly, she is the most down-to-earth, funny + friendly person I’ve met on the ‘gram. Her feed is absolute goals + she’s the definition of adorable. Keep reading to get to know Kam!
1) We are in love with your Instagram @kamryn.law! Tell us more about it: why did you decide to create it and what do you hope to accomplish through the page?
The first time I considered starting a blog/Instagram platform was my junior year of college in 2017, but I didn’t put it into action until January of 2018 after I graduated college. I majored in creative writing & marketing in college and loved everything about getting to write about the things I’m passionate about which include traveling & exploring new places, expressing myself through fashion, and sharing day to day life!
I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset, so I felt like having a platform that combined all the things I love would be a perfect creative outlet/potential business & so that’s how it all began!
My hope for my IG is to be a source of encouragement for anyone who comes across it, a place to seek affordable/casual fashion inspiration, and simply a positive & bright corner of the internet!
2) Is blogging your full-time job? Tell us more about your day-to-day.
Currently, yes!
My husband and I travel full time for his career in minor league baseball, so we rarely live in the same state for more than 3-4 months at a time!
It is too complicated for me to search for jobs in each location we move to, so that’s why I have been so thankful to have blogging since it’s something I can take with me wherever we go!
Once we do settle down in one location, I would eventually LOVE to open up a business- maybe a coffee shop or food truck, but for now I’m blogging full time!
3) Your feed is #goals. How do you plan out content/what inspires you to create?
I usually am inspired by the current season, I try to be as festive as possible! In the summer I highlight as many summer activities, trips, outfits as possible, & the same applies for the other seasons! For example, during the month of December my entire feed was Christmas themed, so I would definitely say I am influenced by the seasons and holidays and create my content accordingly! I also use the preview app to organize and plan my feed!
4) What is your favorite thing about blogging via Instagram?
Connecting with other people from all over, and having a place where the creativity is limitless, and I can be inspired by other creatives every single day!
5) What is the most challenging aspect of blogging?
Putting myself out there for anyone to see/judge. It can be hard to not worry about other’s opinions.
6) What is your advice to other women looking to start a blog via Instagram?
The hardest part is getting started, and everyone has to start somewhere! If you’re wanting to do it, then go for it- it might be the best decision you ever made!
7) Go back to college graduation: what would you tell yourself?
To not worry so much about the future, it will all work out the way it’s supposed to!
8) How do you find inspiration?
I write in a journal, and I think putting my thoughts on paper really helps me to get inspired. I also utilize Pinterest quite a bit for outfit and location ideas!
9) Who is your role model?
My mom, always ️
